PHILADELPHIA, March 21 (UPI) -- Jeremy Lin hit six consecutive free throws in the final 27 seconds Wednesday, boosting New York to an 82-79 decision over Philadelphia.

Lin made only 4-of-17 attempts from the field, but his free-throw shooting assured the Knicks their fifth straight win. New York is in the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Amare Stoudemire led the Knicks with 21 points and nine rebounds, helping New York stay perfect under interim Coach Mike Woodson.

Lin had 18 points and the last of his free throws with 13 seconds left put the Knicks on top by six. Jodie Meeks hit a 3-pointer for the 76ers just before the buzzer to account for the final score.

Jrue Holiday had 16 points to lead Philadelphia, which has lost four out of five. The 76ers' lead in the Atlantic Division was cut to a single game over idle Boston.

Philadelphia had to play catchup after an ugly first period that saw the 76ers miss their first 14 shots and score only 11 points.
