Tigers' Cabrera hit in face by grounder

CLEARWATER, Fla., March 19 (UPI) -- Detroit Tigers third baseman Miguel Cabrera required stitches to close a gash on his face caused by a ground ball Monday, the team said.

Cabrera was playing third base during the first inning of the Tigers' 4-3 spring training loss to Philadelphia when a sharp grounder off the bat of Hunter Pence took a bad hop.
