Roberts wins Toshiba despite late bogeys

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., March 18 (UPI) -- Loren Roberts overcame three late bogeys Sunday to claim his 13th career Champions Tour title with a two-stroke victory at the Toshiba Classic.

Roberts finished with round a of 2-under-par 69, completing 54 holes at 8-under 205 at Newport Beach Country Club.

That was two better than second-round leader Mark Calcavecchia -- who endured a poor start to card a 2-over 73.

Also tied for second at minus-6 were Tom Kite (69) and 2008 champion Bernhard Langer (70).

Sharing fifth place one shot further back were David Eger (71), Joey Sindelar (70) and Mark McNulty (71).
