SANDY, Utah, March 18 (UPI) -- Fabian Espindola and Luis Gil each found the net Saturday, staking Real Salt Lake to a 2-0 victory over Red Bull New York.
RSL (2-0-0) made it 1-0 in the 39th minute when Victor Palsson's giveaway was gathered in by Paulo Junior, who played Espindola into the area.

The Salt Lake striker then slid a shot between the legs of New York goalkeeper Ryan Meara.
RSL made it 2-0 in the 58th when Meara stopped an Espindola shot but Gil was there to finish off the rebound.
The only highlight for New York (0-2-0) came when Thierry Henry's acrobatic bicycle kick shot sailed wide of the net in the 64th minute.
