SAN JOSE, Calif., March 17 (UPI) -- Brad Davis converted a first-half penalty kick Saturday that stood up for a 1-0 Houston Dynamo decision over San Jose.
Brian Ching, who had beaten the Earthquake defense, drew a foul when San Jose goalkeeper Jon Busch collided with him at the edge of the 6-yard box at the 14-minute mark.

Davis scored on the resulting penalty shot, and Houston (2-0-0) parlayed the goal into a second straight 1-0 road win.
The Earthquakes (1-1-0) managed only one shot on goal in the first half.
Their best chance came in the 61st minute when Dynamo goalie Tally Hall recorded a one-on-one stop against Chris Wondolowski.
