Tseng stays out front at Founders Cup

PHOENIX, March 16 (UPI) -- World No. 1 Yani Tseng maintained her spot at the top of a crowded leaderboard Friday and owned a one-shot advantage midway through the LPGA Founders Cup.

There were 16 players within three shots of the lead heading into the weekend at the Wildfire Golf Club.

Tseng shot a 2-under 70 for a 36-hole total of 9-under 135. She shot a 7-under 29 on the back nine Thursday, but had to settle for pars on every one of those holes Friday.

I.K. Kim, Meena Lee, Mika Miyazato, Ai Miyazato and Na Yeon Choi were tied for second at 136.

Paula Creamer was in the group at 137 along with Karin Sjodin, Inbee Park, Hee Young Park, Jiyai Shin and Hall of Famer Karrie Webb.
