DALLAS, March 16 (UPI) -- Dave Bolland and Patrick Sharp scored in the game's first 2 minutes Friday, lifting the Chicago Blackhawks to a 4-1 victory over Dallas.
After winning 10 out of 11, the Stars have lost two straight. They were unable to expand on their two-point lead over Phoenix at the top of the Pacific Division.
Bolland scored with 10 seconds having elapsed in the contest and Sharp put a slap shot past Kari Lehtonen 1:42 into the game.
That was all the scoring until Marian Hossa and Sharp tallied during the first 1:45 of the third to give the Blackhawks a 4-0 lead.
Jamie Benn broke up Corey Crawford's shutout bid with 5:50 to play. Crawford finished with 21 saves.
The Blackhawks have won back-to-back games, giving them some breathing room in the frantic Western Conference playoff chase. Chicago is currently the No. 6 seed, but there are four teams within six points of the Blackhawks.
