UNIONDALE, N.Y., March 15 (UPI) -- Ilya Bryzgalov established a franchise record for scoreless minutes Thursday, boosting the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Bryzgalov stopped 29 shots before finally giving up a goal with 6:30 remaining in the game. That ended his scoreless streak at 249 minutes, 43 seconds -- which wiped out the Philadelphia record of 227:40 set by John Vanbiesbrouck in 1999.

The Flyers owned a 3-0 lead when Michael Grabner brought an end to Bryzgalov's streak and John Travers added his 31st goal of the season 35 seconds later.

Philadelphia held on, however, to win its second in a row and its seventh in eight games. The Islanders have lost five straight and eight out of 10.

Zac Rinaldo and Claude Giroux produced first-period goals for the Flyers and Scott Hartnell delivered what turned out to be the game-winner midway through the second.

Evgeni Nabokov gave up the three goals on 22 shots.
