EDMONTON, Alberta, March 13 (UPI) -- Logan Couture netted the go-ahead goal in the third period Monday and the San Jose Sharks hung on for a 3-2 victory over Edmonton.
Joe Thornton provided a goal and an assist and Torrey Mitchell chipped in with a score for the Sharks, who won for the first time in March and stayed in the Western Conference playoff hunt.
Antti Niemi made 20 saves for San Jose, which pulled to within one point of Colorado for the eighth playoff berth in the West.
Ray Whitney and Taylor Hall scored and Devan Dubnyk turned aside 30-of-33 shots for the Oilers.
