PHILADELPHIA, March 13 (UPI) -- Ilya Bryzgalov registered his sixth shutout of the season and third in a row Tuesday, backstopping the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-0 whitewash of New Jersey.

Bryzgalov made 17 stops, extending his shutout streak to 196 minutes, 13 seconds, as the Flyers reached the 40-win level for the fifth straight season.

Philadelphia's Danny Briere sealed the victory with an empty-net goal that broke a 23-game personal scoreless streak.

Jakub Voracek and Sean Couturier also scored for the Flyers, who took their sixth win in seven games and bounced back after losing the opener of their home-and-home set with the Devils.

Martin Brodeur made 26 saves for New Jersey, which had won four straight.
