TORONTO, March 10 (UPI) -- Claude Giroux scored the game's only goal in the second round of the shootout Saturday, boosting the Philadelphia Flyers to a 1-0 win over Toronto.
Philadelphia's Ilya Bryzgalov and Toronto's Jonas Gustavsson dueled to a scoreless tie through 65 minutes, but Giroux finally put one past Gustavsson to bring the Flyers their fifth straight win.
With second-place Pittsburgh and third-place Philadelphia both on winning streaks, the New York Rangers' lead in the Atlantic Division has come under attack. Pittsburgh is four points off the pace after winning eight in a row and Philadelphia is six points behind.
It was the fifth shutout of the season for Bryzgalov, and his third in four games. He blanked Washington March 4 and Florida in his most recent outing Thursday.
