SOCHI, Russia, March 9 (UPI) -- Russian President-elect Vladimir Putin said he will ride the Olympic bobsled run in Sochi after watching Friday's trial runs.

Prime Minister Putin said after watching the trial runs with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak he will make an attempt to ride a bobsled down the course, which will be used in the 2014 Olympic Games, RIA Novosti reported Friday.

Putin previously attempted to shoot a biathlon rifle while visiting the Olympic facilities with President Dmitry Medvedev and former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. He was able to hit three of the five targets with a regulation rifle and four of the targets when using a modified rifle for visually impaired athletes.
