DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, March 3 (UPI) -- Roger Federer
of Switzerland topped Andy Murray
to win the Dubai Tennis Championship for the fifth time in his career.
The second-seeded Federer held off Murray 7-5, 6-4 to notch his second tour win of the season and win in Dubai for the first time since 2007.
Federer used a late surge to win the first set and then broke Murray twice in the second set to take a 5-4 lead and nail down the victory.
Murray's loss came on the heels of his semifinal win Friday over world No. 1 Novak Djokovic.
