NBA: Boston 86, Cleveland 83

CLEVELAND, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- Boston's Ray Allen pumped in 22 points Tuesday and the Boston Celtics broke a five-game losing streak with an 86-83 win over Cleveland.

Allen's slam dunk with 48 seconds left put the Celtics ahead for good and Kevin Garnett added two throws with 3 seconds remaining to ice the Boston victory.

Garnett finished with 18 points and eight rebounds for Celtics.

Brandon Bass and Paul Pierce contributed 12 points apiece for the winners.

Cleveland got a game-high 24 points from Kyrie Irving but it wasn't enough to prevent the Cavs' second consecutive loss.

Ramon Sessions added 13 off the bench and Tristan Thompson chipped in with 13 and 10 rebounds for Cleveland.
