Radwanska moves to career-high No. 5

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Agnieszka Radwanska edged past Samantha Stosur and into the No. 5 spot in the women's world tennis rankings.

Radwanska defeated Julie Goerges in straight sets in the finals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. It was her eighth career WTA title and improved her record to 15-3 on the year. All three of the losses have been to world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka.

Radwanska is now a career-high No. 5 in the world after starting the year in the eighth position. Her move up pushes Stosur to sixth.

In another switch in the Top 10, Li Na goes ahead of Vera Zvonareva and into eighth with Zvonareva now ninth.

Azarenka, undefeated this year, is No. 1 with 8,980 rankings points. Maria Sharapova remains at No. 2 with 7,680 with Petra Kvitova in third at 7,095 and Caroline Wozniacki (6,270) in fourth.

Radwanska has 5,850 points with Stosur totaling 5,825. Marion Bartoli (5,160) is seventh with Li having 4,390 points and Zvonareva 4,340. Andrea Petkovic completes the Top 10 with her 3,810 points.

Sofia Arvidsson won at Memphis and goes from 72nd to No. 55 in the rankings while Timea Babos took the title in Monterrey, Mexico, and jumps 39 spots to 68th in the rankings.

Radwanska, seeded No. 1 at the BMW Malaysia Open, is the only Top 10 player entered in this week's WTA tournaments.
