Cincy pitcher Marshall signs 3-year deal

CINCINNATI, Feb. 27 (UPI) -- Big starting left-hander Sean Marshall has signed a three-year contract extension with the Cincinnati Reds.

The Reds picked up the 6-foot-7 Marshall from the Chicago Cubs in December. He went 6-6 with a 2.26 earned run average and five saves in 78 appearances for Chicago in 2011.

Marshall, 29, produced a 32-40 record with a 3.96 ERA and seven saves in 292 games (59 starts) for the Cubs, going back to 2006.
