ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Kevin Durant scored 36 points and Kobe Bryant added 27 Sunday, helping the Western Conference hold off the East 152-149 in the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.

Durant went 14-of-25 from the field to earn Most Valuable Player honors and Bryant broke Michael Jordan's All-Star Game career scoring record with his performance for the West.

Blake Griffin contributed 22 points and eight rebounds for the West, which led the entire game and by as many as 21 points in the second half, but had to turn back a determined East rally down the stretch.

The East went on a 31-14 run over the final 8 minutes to get within a point but Deron Williams and Dwyane Wade both missed 3-pointers in the final seconds that could have given the East a lead or tied it up.

LeBron James drained an All-Star Game-record six treys en route to 36 points but tossed a bad pass on his team's last possession to seal the West's win.

Wade finished with a triple-double of 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
