Babos downs Cadantu for 1st WTA win

MONTERREY, Mexico, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Hungarian teenager Timea Babos claimed her first WTA Tour title Sunday, dispatching Alexandra Cadantu in the final of the Monterrey Open.

It took the 18-year-old Babos 81 minutes to prevail over the 21-year-old Romanian 6-4, 6-4 on the hard courts at Sierra Madre Tennis Club.

The young victor got five aces past her opponent while appearing in her initial final.

Cadantu was also appearing her first-ever women's tour final.
