DALLAS, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Tom Wandell opened and closed the scoring Friday in boosting the Dallas Stars to their third straight win, 4-1 over Minnesota.

Wandell scored 8:48 into the game and then delivered an empty-net goal with 53 seconds remaining in the third period.

Loui Eriksson added a first-period goal for Dallas and Eric Nystrom scored in the second to put the Stars in control.

The only Minnesota goal came from Devin Setoguchi on the power play with 7:17 remaining.

Kari Lehtonen made 28 saves for the Stars. Nicklas Backstrom gave up three goals on 14 shots before giving way to Matt Hackett.
