Crittenton arrested after speeding stop

FORT GAINES, Ga., Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Ex-NBA star Javaris Crittenton was arrested outside Atlanta after allegedly being pulled over for speeding and refusing to cooperate with a police officer.

Crittenton was pulled over for traveling 60 mph in a 45 mph zone in his black Porsche Wednesday morning, law enforcement sources told TMZ.com

TMZ reported he refused to sign the citation, as required, then refused to get out of the car when the officer asked him to do so.

When he did get out of the car after some discussion between him and the officer, he was arrested, accused of speeding and obstruction of an officer, the entertainment Web site said.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Crittenton was released from the Clayton County jail on $1,500 bond.

Crittenton was already out on bail on a murder charge.

The Journal-Constitution said he is accused of killing Jullian Jones, a 23-year-old Atlanta mother of four, on Aug. 19 after allegedly firing gunshots from a black SUV.

Jones was fatally shot as she stood outside her home with two other people. Homicide detectives have said Crittenton was trying to shoot someone he believed had stolen jewelry from him, but Crittenton's attorney has said the former first-round NBA draft pick is innocent and the victim of erroneous eyewitness testimony.
