CLEVELAND, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- Jarrett Jack began a streak of six straight free throws in the final 26 seconds Wednesday that allowed New Orleans to hold on for an 89-84 win over Cleveland.
The Hornets ended a two-game skid and won for just the eighth time this season. New Orleans has won more games on the road (five) than it has at home.
Cleveland cut a 13-point deficit early in the fourth period to five in the final minute but Jack, Marco Belinelli and Greivis Vasquez all made a pair of foul shots to fight off the Cavaliers.
Chris Kaman made only 10-of-25 shots from the field, but his 21 points led the Hornets. Belinelli had 19 points and Jack finished with 16.
Antawn Jamison paced Cleveland with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
New Orleans scored the game's first five points and never trailed.
