

MARSEILLE, France, Feb. 21 (UPI) -- Fifth-seeded Richard Gasquet dropped just two games Tuesday in a first-round win at the Open 13 tennis tournament in France.
Gasquet rolled over Go Soeda 6-0, 6-2 in 63 minutes. Gasquet cashed in 5-of-6 break-point chances while saving all seven that Soeda managed. Gasquet won two-thirds of the points in the match after losing a mere nine in the first set.
He was the only seeded player on Tuesday's schedule. The top four seeds, including No. 1 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, had first-round byes.
Only one match went three sets Tuesday and that was when Karol Beck capped the day's play with a 7-6 (7-2), 2-6, 6-3 win over Paul-Henri Mathieu. His only break in the match came in the third set.
Nicolas Mahut had 12 aces and three breaks in a 6-3, 6-4 win over Arnaud Clement while Nikolay Davydenko was a 6-1, 7-5 winner over Andreas Beck and Igor Kunitsyn topped Roberto Bautista-Agut 6-4, 6-4.
Albano Olivetti beat Matthias Bachinger 6-4, 6-3 and David Goffin was up 6-2, 1-0 when Adrian Mannarino retired. Olivetti next faces second-seeded Mardy Fish and Goffin meets No. 3-seeded Janko Tipsarevic in the second round.
