Serena Williams, on record streak, remains No. 1

DETROIT, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Joey MacDonald made 31 saves Sunday and the Detroit Red Wings extended their NHL-record home winning streak to 23 games with a 3-2 victory over San Jose.
MacDonald turned aside 18-of-19 shots during a busy second period while making his sixth straight start in place of Jimmy Howard, who is out with a broken right index finger.
Darren Helm, Henrik Zetterberg and Drew Miller each found the net as the Red Wings completed a sweep of a six-game homestand at Joe Louis Arena.
Logan Couture and Patrick Marleau scored for San Jose, which saw its five-game winning streak against Detroit snapped.
Antti Niemi stopped 25 shots for the Sharks, who dropped a third straight overall.
