PALISADES, Calif., Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Bill Haas drained a 43-foot putt for birdie on the second playoff hole Sunday, emerging from a three-way tiebreaker to claim the Northern Trust Open.
Haas' long birdie try gave him his fourth career PGA Tour title, besting Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley in the extra action.

Haas, the reigning FedExCup champion, fired a 2-under 69 Sunday to finish at 7-under 277.
But Bradley and Mickelson each sank tough birdie putts themselves on the final hole of regulation to grab a piece of the lead.
Each finished the fourth round with even-par 71s.
Mickelson just missed notching his second victory in two weeks coming off his victory in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.
