ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Nikolay Davydenko posted the lone upset of Friday's quarterfinal play at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in the Netherlands.

Davydenko, unseeded, beat fifth-seeded Richard Gasquet 7-5, 6-3. Gasquet was serving for the first set at 5-3 but Davydenko reeled off four consecutive games and took the set. Davydenko won the last three games -- with two breaks -- of the second set to advance.

No. 1 seeded Roger Federer won 79 percent of the points on serve but only managed one break himself in a 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win over Jarkko Nieminen. Federer lost 14 points over 12 games serving -- four in six second-set games -- and didn't face a break point.

Federer is 13-0 versus Nieminen, losing just one set in the string.

Second-seeded Tomas Berdych lost 10 points in his 10 serving games of a 6-3, 6-4 win over Andreas Seppi, and No. 3-seeded Juan Martin del Potro lost just eight points on serve in a 6-0, 6-1 rout of Viktor Troicki.

Federer goes against Davydenko in Saturday's semifinals. Federer has won 16 of their 18 previous meetings. The other semi has Berdych playing del Potro, who has won two of their three matches.
