DALLAS, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Mike Ribeiro scored on a slap shot 2:01 into overtime Thursday, giving the Dallas Stars a 3-2 decision over Calgary.

The Stars ended a three-game losing streak and picked up two much needed points in their bid to earn a playoff berth. Dallas is two points out of a tie for the final post-season spot in the Western Conference.

Dallas never trailed, but twice let a one-goal lead get away.

Adam Burish opened the scoring for Dallas 9:42 into the contest, but Jarome Iginla tied it on a tip-in with 53 seconds left in the first period.

Steve Ott's power-play goal was the only score of the second period and Calgary again came back on Mike Cammalleri's 13th goal of the season with 5:03 left in regulation.

Kari Lehtonen earned the win with 25 saves.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 28 shots for the Flames, who had won their previous two games.
