SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 14 (UPI) -- No. 5-seeded Kevin Anderson needed to win a pair of tiebreakers Monday in claiming a first-round win at the SAP Open tennis tournament in California.
Anderson just got by Grigor Dimitrov 2-6, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-3) in about 2 1/2 hours. He managed just one break point in the match but was able to save the three break points he faced in the third set to force the decisive tiebreaker.
