Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
NEW YORK, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Retired NFL wide receiver Randy Moss said on his 35th birthday Monday he'd like to get back in the game.
"I just wanna go to a team and play some football," NBC Sports' Profootballtalk.com quoted Moss as saying in an appearance on Upstream.tv.
The West Virginia native retired last August but hasn't played since 2010. In 13 NFL seasons, he caught 954 passes for 14,858 yards with 153 touchdowns. Only Jerry Rice had more TD catches with 197.
On Monday, he said he retired because off-field issues, and that his family has told him, "It's fine, whatever you wanna do."
Now Moss, who once said he plays when he wants to, says he's ready to play again.
"Faith, family, and football, that's my M.O., bro," Moss said. "Your boy be back for the upcoming season."
