Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Lou Williams and Thaddeus Young combined for 43 points Monday and the Philadelphia 76ers handed Charlotte its 15th straight loss, 98-89.
Williams came off the bench to net 23 points and fellow reserve Young added 20 as the Sixers notched a second consecutive win. Jrue Holiday struck for 19 points and Nikola Vucevic chipped in with eight and 10 rebounds in a reserve role for Philadelphia.
The Hornets extended their club-record losing streak with a 15th straight setback.
Kemba Walker led a comeback try by scoring 14 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough for Charlotte. Corey Maggette paced the Bobcats with a season-high 22 points.
