VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Jo-Wilfried Tsonga handled Canadian Frank Dancevic in straight sets Sunday, lifting France to a Davis Cup quarterfinals victory in Vancouver.

The world's sixth-ranked player bested Dancevic 6-4, 6-4, 6-1 in the first reverse singles match to give France an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the best-of-five weekend tie with Canada.

Dancevic replaced Milos Raonic for Canada and made 27 unforced errors in the decisive match.

With the victory, France goes on to host the United States in an April quarterfinal tie.

The Americans completed a surprising 5-0 sweep of Switzerland earlier Sunday.
