BOCA RATON, Fla., Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Corey Pavin held off a challenge by Peter Senior Sunday, birdying the first playoff hole to claim to the Allianz Championship and first Champions Tour win.

Pavin seemed on his way to a regulation victory but Senior birdied the final hole of regulation to force the playoff. Both golfers finished the final round with 1-under-par 71s, ending knotted at 11-under 205.

Pavin got up and down for a birdie on their return to No. 18 for the playoff, while Senior could manage only a par, handing Pavin his initial title on the seniors circuit.

Sharing third place were Bernhard Langer (71) and Michael Allen (69) at minus-10.

One shot further back at minus-9 were Jay Haas and John Cook, both of whom closed with 3-under 69s.
