DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Rafael Cabrera-Bello shot a bogey-free 4-under-par 68 Sunday in taking a one-stroke victory at the European Tour's Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Cabrera-Bello opened the tournament with a brilliant 9-under 63 and kept close to the top with a 69 Friday and a third-round 70. His 68 Sunday moved him to 18-under 270 for the tournament.

Stephen Gallacher and Lee Westwood, who took a one-stroke lead into Sunday's round, both missed 72nd-hole birdie attempts that would have forced a playoff with Cabrera-Bello and ended up tied for second at 17-under.

Gallacher had an eagle, two birdies and two bogeys for a 3-under 69 Sunday while Westwood's 2-under 70 included an eagle at the par-4 second hole, a bogey and one birdie.

Marcel Siem was 1-under Sunday and ended up fourth overall at 15-under. Rory McIlroy was in a group of four that finished tied for fifth at 14-under.

Cabrera-Bello, after a birdie at the second hole, was 1-under through 10 but had back-to-back birdies at 11 and 12 to move up and then took the lead with a 17th-hole birdie. That he went through the day without a bogey was remarkable because of persistent windy conditions affecting most of the other players.

Cabrera-Bello won more than $416,000 in picking up his second European Tour title. His other was in September 2009 at the Austrian Golf Open.
