NHL: Florida 3, New Jersey 1

NEWARK, N.J., Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Kris Versteeg continued to bedevil New Jersey Saturday, notching the go-ahead goal for the Florida Panthers in their 3-1 victory over the Devils.

Versteeg collected his fifth goal in four meetings against New Jersey this season, providing the spark in the second period that carried Florida to its second straight win.

Sean Bergenheim also scored and Mikael Samuelsson added an empty-net goal in the victory.

Scott Clemmensen helped out the Panthers by stopping 27-of-28 shots in the match-up against his former team.

Steve Bernier scored the lone goal for the Devils while Martin Brodeur turned aside 17 shots as New Jersey absorbed its first regulation loss in eight games.
