
MEMPHIS, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- O.J. Mayo put Memphis in front for good with 4:12 to play Friday and the Grizzlies went on to down Indiana 98-92.
Mayo also hit three of the Grizzlies' seven free throws over the final 1:09 to fight off the Pacers, who have lost two in a row after winning five out of six. Memphis has captured two straight to climb back over the .500 mark.
Rudy Gay had 21 points to lead Memphis while Marreese Speights had 19 points and nine rebounds. Mike Conley and Marc Gasol both scored 15 points and Mayo had 13, including two foul shots at the 4:12 mark that gave the Grizzlies an 88-86 lead.
Indiana got 22 points and 13 rebounds from David West and 19 points from Danny Granger.
The teams combined to commit 55 fouls, leading to 74 free throws -- 37 for each club.
