SUNRISE, Fla., Feb. 9 (UPI) -- Second-period goals by Sean Bergenheim and Mike Santorelli Thursday ignited Florida to a 3-1 win over Los Angeles, its first over the Kings in almost 10 years.

The Panthers' last previous victory against Los Angeles came on Nov. 27, 2002.

Florida owned a 2-0 lead after two periods thanks to the goals from Bergenheim and Santorelli. Drew Doughty brought the Kings within one with just 2:28 remaining in regulation, but Matt Bradley clinched the win by scoring into an empty net with 49 seconds to play.

The Panthers had lost two in a row, while the Kings have dropped three out of four.

After giving up two goals on 11 shots, Los Angeles replaced Jonathan Quick in goal with Jonathan Bernier. Scott Clemmensen made 22 saves to get the victory.
