NHL: Winnipeg 2, Toronto 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Winnipeg's Ondrej Pavelec had to handle a mere 18 shots Tuesday in the Jets' 2-1 win over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs.

Chris Thorburn and Bryan Little scored for the Jets, who ended a two-game losing streak. Pavelec limited Toronto to a first-period goal by Phil Kessel.

Kessel gave the Leafs a 1-0 lead at 11:06 but Thorburn answered with a wrist shot at 14:16 that tied the score. Little's goal on a rebound off a breakaway at 9:47 of the second period proved to be the game winner.

Toronto had just five shots on goal in the third period and were outshot 29-18 in the game. Jonas Gustavsson stopped 27 shots, but Toronto saw its three-game winning streak come to a close.
