NASHVILLE, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Alexander Elder scored in the sixth round of Tuesday's shootout to give Vancouver a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators.

Elder beat Pekka Rinne on the right side to give the Canucks their fifth win in their last six games.

Roberto Luongo, who had 34 saves in regulation and three in overtime, nearly gave up a goal to Colin Wilson in the Predators' sixth-round try but the puck dribbled wide of the net.

Ryan Kesler, Byron Bitz and Daniel Sedin scored to give the Canucks a 3-1 advantage after one period.

Nashville had second-period goals from Sergei Kostitsyn and Mike Fisher to tie it up. Colin Wilson scored in the first.

Rinne finished the game with 28 saves on 31 shots on goal.
