Yanks' Cashman accused of fathering child

NEW YORK, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- A woman has accused New York Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman of impregnating her, e-mails obtained by the New York Daily News indicate.

The messages sent by Louise Neathway to Cashman and his attorney include a sonogram image of the unborn child she said is his.

"What Brian Cashman has done to me is both incomprehensible and unforgivable," Neathway wrote in the sonogram e-mail sent Jan. 29. "I am going to the press and informaing [sic] them of the preganacy [sic] and the abortion. And everything else."

The Daily News said Sunday it obtained the e-mails Saturday, the day after Cashman's wife filed for divorce. A source close to Cashman told the Daily News the correspondence from Neathway was "baloney."

New York prosecutors contend Neathway, a British national, has a history of stalking. The newspaper said she was on probation for stalking in New Jersey.

Meanwhile, Cashman and wife, Mary, were headed for formal divorce in Connecticut. The New York Post said Cashman paid his first visit to his former home Saturday.

"He's accepting of this (situation) and the divorce," a family friend told the Post. "Considering the circumstances, he's in decent spirits."
