NHL: Montreal 3, Winnipeg 0

MONTREAL, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Carey Price recorded his third shutout of the season Sunday and the Montreal Canadiens broke a three-game losing skid with a 3-0 whitewash of Winnipeg.

Price was especially sharp in the third period when the Jets outshot Montreal 8-1, hanging on to collect his 15th career shutout.

Price improved to 6-1-2 in his last nine home starts against the Jets franchise.

Max Pacioretty, Alexei Emelin and Tomas Plekanec scored for the Habs.

Ondrej Pavelec finished with 20 saves for Winnipeg, which fell to 9-16-4 on the road.
