CHAMONIX, France, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Romed Baumann of Austria picked up his second career World Cup win Sunday with a comfortable victory in the men's super combined at Chamonix, France.

Baumann covered the course in a combined 2 minutes, 56.10 seconds, 1.1 seconds ahead of second-place Alexis Pinturault of France.

Baumann led after the first run with a 2:01.58 downhill and was fast enough in the slalom phase to secure the victory.

Beat Feuz of Switzerland was third and Ivica Kostelic of Croatia came in seventh but maintained his lead in the super combined and overall World Cup point standings.

Erik Fischer was the top American, placing 23rd and earning the first World Cup points of his career. Bode Miller was one of 13 competitors who failed to complete the downhill portion of the event.
