ST. LOUIS, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- A 21-save performance by Jaroslav Halak brought him his fifth shutout of the season Friday and gave the St. Louis Blues a 1-0 victory over Los Angeles.
Halak, in his sixth NHL season, has 21 shutouts in his career. He is one out of the league lead in that department this season, trailing Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers and Jonathan Quick of Los Angeles.
Halak outdueled Quick in this one, bringing the Blues their first win in three games. The Kings had won two in a row.
The lone goal came in the second period from Jamie Langenbrunner, who took a pass from Matt D'Agostini and buried a slap shot.
Quick stopped 32 shots in the loss.
