Colts considering 'all options' on Manning

INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay said Friday the team is weighing "all the options" concerning injured quarterback Peyton Manning's future.

"Peyton Manning, Jim Irsay and the entire Colts family remain close and unified as we continue to work through all the options that relate to his future with the Colts," the team said in a statement accompanied by a photo of Manning, Irsay and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at a Colts party Thursday.

"The present focus is on the Super Bowl and the great game that awaits," the statement said.

"Peyton has not passed our physical nor has he been cleared to play for The Indianapolis Colts," Irsay tweeted earlier Friday.

Manning's surgeon, Dr. Robert Watkins Sr. said Thursday Manning has been "medically cleared to play professional football," prompting Irsay's tweet.

The announcement came amid rumors Manning may not return to the team next year, even if he is cleared to play. The Colts have the first pick in April's draft and are expected to pick up Stanford University quarterback Andrew Luck.
