NBA: Portland 112, Charlotte 68

PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- LaMarcus Aldridge scored 14 points in the opening period Wednesday, touching off a 112-68 Portland Trail Blazers crushing of Charlotte.

The Bobcats lost their 10th in a row, putting up little fight after falling behind by 17 points through one period.

Portland improved its home record to 10-1, shooting 55 percent from the field and hitting half its 14 tries from 3-point range. The Trail Blazers have won just three times in 11 road games.

Jamal Crawford scored 24 points off the bench for Portland and Gerald Wallace had 23. Aldridge finished with 24 points.

The Bobcats, winners of a league-low three games, got 16 points from Gerald Henderson.

Charlotte, Washington and Detroit each have only one road victory this season. All three lost on the road Wednesday.
