MIAMI, Jan. 29 (UPI) -- Miami's LeBron James poured in 35 points Sunday and the Heat held off Chicago down the stretch to register a 97-93 victory.

The Heat saw their lead dwindle from eight points to only one during the final 2 1/2 minutes. Derrick Rose completed a 3-point play with 49.1 seconds remaining to get Chicago within 94-93.

But he missed a pair of free throws and a jumper in the closing seconds and the Heat went on to win in a rematch of last year's Eastern Conference finals.

James also grabbed 11 rebounds, while Chris Bosh contributed 24 points and 12 boards in Miami's win.

Rose pumped in 34 points for Chicago.
