DALLAS, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- The Dallas Stars activated forward Jamie Benn Wednesday, removing him from the injured reserve list in time to participate in the NHL All-Star Game.
Benn, one of the team's top point-producers, had been sidelined for five games after an emergency appendectomy.

The fifth-round draft choice from Victoria, British Columbia, leads the Stars with 29 assists and ranks second with 42 points, earning a spot on the All-Star roster.
With his activation, Benn will head to Ottawa to participate in Sunday's contest.
