
PHOENIX, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Andrea Bargnani returned from a six-game absence to score 36 points Tuesday in the Toronto Raptors' 99-96 win over Phoenix.
Bargnani, who had been sidelined with a strained calf muscle, scored 27 points in the second half, including two key free throws down the stretch and a baseline jumper with 42 seconds to play that put the Raptors ahead by seven.
Leandro Barbosa added 19 points for the Raptors, who snapped an eight-game losing streak. James Johnson added 18 points and had 10 rebounds.
Marcin Gortat led Phoenix with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Steve Nash had 17 points and 14 assists in the Suns' seventh loss in nine games.
Phoenix led 52-48 at halftime, but Bargnani led a Toronto surge in the third quarter with 18 points, including four 3-pointers.
