GREEN BAY, Wis., Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Former Green Bay Packers Coach Mike Holmgren said it is an "honor" to be inducted into the team's Hall of Fame.
Holmgren, who led the Packers to the playoffs six times during his seven years at the team's helm, said he was "humbled" to learn he will be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame July 21, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday.
"I've always said this and I really believe this," Holmgren said Tuesday. "I was a high school history teacher who got lucky. Ron Wolf decided to take a chance on a guy who hadn't been in the league very long. To be a part of and be mentioned in the same breath with the greats of the Green Bay Packers, that's a special thing for anybody. It's an honor and I'm humbled by it."
