EDMONTON, Alberta, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Taylor Hall scored in the fourth round of a shootout and Devan Dubnyk made 44 saves Monday in the Edmonton Oilers' 2-1 victory over San Jose.
Joe Pavelski extended the shootout into a fourth round when he dented Dubnyk on a forehand shot against the grain. But Hall quickly gave the advantage back to the Oilers when he shoveled a backhander past Thomas Greiss, and Dubnyk made it hold up for Edmonton's second win in 10 games, with a stop on Logan Couture.
Dubnyk turned aside 16-of-17 shots in the third period, but allowed a tying power-play goal to Couture after Ales Hemsky was given a 5-minute kneeing major and game misconduct for a hit on Brent Burns.
Burns limped to the San Jose locker room after the knee-on-knee hit.
Jordan Eberle scored in regulation for the Oilers.
Greiss finished with 17 saves for the Sharks, who have dropped four straight.
