WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Mikael Samuelsson got a goal past Ondrej Pavelec in the seventh round of a shootout Saturday, boosting Florida to a 4-3 win over Winnipeg.
Samuelsson made a pair of fakes and beat the Winnipeg netminder with a forehead shot off his shoulder and under the crossbar for the game-deciding goal, which broke an eight-game road losing streak for Florida.
Panthers goalie Scott Clemmensen set up the decisive tally when he poke-checked Alexander Burmistrov's attempt in the top of the seventh tiebreaker frame.
Kris Versteeg collected a pair of goals and Mike Santorelli also scored in regulation for Florida while Clemmensen turned aside 41 shots in the victory.
Nik Antropov tallied twice and Burmistrov also scored as the Jets fell for the seventh time in 10 contests.
Pavelec stopped 20-of-23 shots for Winnipeg.
