NHL: Winnipeg 4, Buffalo 1

WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Tobias Enstrom put Winnipeg in front just past the game's midway point Thursday and the Jets went on to down Buffalo 4-1.

The Jets climbed within three points of Washington for the lead in the Southeast Division. Buffalo lost its fourth straight.

Buffalo's Drew Stafford tied the game 4:17 into the second period, but Enstrom put Winnipeg back in front with 7:05 to go in the stanza on a power-play goal.

Tim Stapleton and Nik Antropov added third-period tallies for the Jets, who got 25 saves from Ondrej Pavelec.

Ryan Miller allowed all four goals on 32 shots.
